HOME STAR PROGRAM- IMPROVES ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Home Star Program is a federal government program that gives household incentives in the form of less interested loans, tax discounts, tax breaks and sales discounts to pay for energy saving retrofit programs.  This program helps the individuals, organizations and companies to make them more energy efficient as well as helps them to utilize energy star appliances.

This innovative Home Star Program will help the severely below par construction and home improvement stores as well as retail sales. Through this program of retrofitting a common house owner can save energy bills by 10 % to 40% depending on the size, age and location of the house and level of investment.

The amount of incentive eligibility will depend on the project cost and on list of acceptable weatherization projects. All the projects to get the benefit, should meet specifications mentioned by the government and should have proven benefits. Under this incentive program a home owner can avail 50 % of the total cost of the project and the rest of the amount is born by the homeowner.

According to the program sponsors this innovative program can create lot of jobs, saves homeowners money, can increase retail sales and most importantly reduces carbon emission. Apart from this it can stimulate the country’s economy by making long term investment in our environment and national security.
